Need Mobile Inspiration? See How These Businesses Use Mobile [Infographic]

June 27th, 2018

Does your company need an idea for a mobile app? Check out what these businesses are doing and how they use mobile marketing to their advantage

In my last post about which mobile web technology to use, I mentioned some possible approaches on using mobile web technologies to create mobile websites.

But what happens when your client asks you about mobile strategies and any ideas you have to acquire mobile users.

It's one thing to build a website, but something completely different to work on an idea for a business to introduce customers to a mobile web app.

Luckily, the infographic below can give you (and your clients) some ideas on how to approach a mobile strategy.

Possible Ideas

Based on the data, you could introduce mobile to users through any one of these ideas. Of course, the biggest bang for the buck would be to create a mobile-friendly, responsive website as mentioned in my last post.

90% of users view video on their phone as opposed to 60% on their desktop

With video on every device possible, why not include it on your website? It definitely keeps the audiences attention and makes the site "sticky."

Action: Focus your efforts on making your customer's website mobile friendly for videos.

92% of adults owned a mobile, but only 73% owned a desktop or laptop computer in 2015

This was back in 2015. You can almost bet this number is larger.

The larger point to make here is you need to have a mobile strategy...like yesterday.

Action: If your client doesn't have an online mobile presence, work with them to build something of value for their customers.

Push Notifications drive 9.6x more users to make a purchase

As annoying as they are, they still produce a frenzy of die-hard shoppers and drive traffic to a site...if the notifications show tremendous value.

Action: Implement push notifications into your website to notify their customers of a special happening this weekend, a time-sensitive coupon code that will expire within 2 days, or let them know of a new product.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are a number of mobile ideas to explore with this infographic.

I haven't even touched on the existing company chains on how they introduced mobile to their customers.

I leave that as an exercise to my readers. ;-)
