I have one of these at home and it has already paid for itself. I have a number of old hard drives around the house and even when my son bought a new computer, he needed some files off of the old computer.

I also had a neighbor who had an issue with their old computer and couldn't start their computer to access their data on the hard drive. Disconnect the hard drive and plug it into the "toaster" and you can use the hard drive like a USB Drive.

I had a Memory Card Backup Storage device called HyperDrive a while ago and I even wrote about it in a post. This device saved me more headaches than ever.

Here is how it works: You turn on the device, insert your card into the slot, press a button, and it immediately starts to copy all of the files onto the hard drive. If you decide to copy it again, it creates a brand new folder and copies the files over again until you decide to clean up the folders. You can use the USB cable to connect to a laptop or computer and use it like an external portable hard drive.

For photographers, I imagine this can save you a lot of time (and space) managing your photos with a portable hard drive.
