An Essential Characteristic for an Entrepreneur

A historic event happened on Sunday night. Do you have extreme focus to contribute to a project?

Focus is one of those characteristics most entrepreneurs require when building or creating something from scratch.

It makes the construction of something move more rapidly towards it's end goal.

While the world's microscope is fixed on more political endeavors, I wanted to write a quick, uplifting Monday morning post to those having difficulty during these trying times.     

FINALLY! Something Good!

I know 2020 has been something...umm...special, but there was an event that snuck up on me last night.

A historic event.

The future of human spaceflight is now here.

The Crew-1 mission has lifted off on a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA at 7:27p on Nov. 15th, 2020.

Yes, the SpaceX launch occurred last night (Sunday) to dock with the International Space Station (ISS). The docking procedure is scheduled to happen around 11:00p on Monday night. 

This was such a breath of fresh air to hear during these hard times, it made me sit down and reflect on this moment.

With everyone arguing about who's right and who's wrong, the SpaceX and NASA team have been working on this project for a long time.

Of course, I understand this isn't an "overnight success story." This has been in the works for a while thanks to Mr. Elon.

But the SpaceX team required something to make this project succeed.

This required extreme focus and discipline.

Were they concerned about the election? I'm sure some were, but their one goal as a team was to make spaceflight a reality. They pushed their differences aside and moved forward with the end goal in mind.

With extreme focus, distractions aren't even a blip on your radar. You proceed pushing forward overcoming any obstacles in your way.

After last night's live event, the SpaceX launch was a success and this was absolutely a momentus occassion.

The Coronavirus pandemic is continuing to get out of hand across the country.

Now, you may be asking yourself, "why did he go from excellent news to the pandemic?"

The reason I started talking about the pandemic is because most states are looking to go into a lockdown (once again). It may happen.

I felt this may be a second opportunity for people.

Second opportunity for what, you ask?

Back in March, I mentioned an opportunity for people to find their Mona Lisa; To look around and find a side-hustle or greater opportunity to make a career change. I also included some follow up posts for people serious about why you should pursue your side-hustles and tools to aggregate their ideas.

I don't want to sound corny or anything, but take your ideas and use extreme focus to build something to make the world a better place during this quarantine period.

Elon did. With SpaceX. With Tesla. You can see where I'm going with this.

This may be a second chance to build something bigger than yourself and everyone around you.

Conclusion

Again, watching this live launch was amazing and historic.

With everyone working on their spaceflight plans like Jeff Bezos with Blue Origin and Sir Richard Branson with Virgin Galactic, Elon Musk has given us a glimpse of the future of spaceflight and what we can achieve when a team has extreme focus on a project.

I also feel only the achievements for humanity will survive long after we're gone.
